OVERVIEW

The Aslan Kitty Castle is made for the serious cat lover who wants a cat tree masterpiece for their cats just as much as for the beauty of their home.

It begins with a 4’x4′ base and a center tower reaching up 6’8″ from the floor with 4 interior steps to allow your cats to spiral from the bottom to the top through an 8″x8″ access hole in the castle top. The top is 18″x18″ inside the 4″ rampart walls to 6″ at the high points. To each unique side of the tower are landings secured to each other and to it to give endless opportunities for your cats to sleep and play. Each corner features diagonally mounted couches atop 4.5′ posts to guard the central kitty kingdom. The front side has an additional couch and platform for climb, play, or sleep; the left side has a donut, an 18″ beam, a 32″ catwalk, an 18″ doubled sisal scratching post, and a hanging hammock; the back side has two couches, a full-length chevron shaped bridge, and a 28″ ladder; and the right side has an additional platform, a 3′ doubled sisal scratching post, 18″ cube, and a 28″ ladder. There is virtually endless spaces for your cats to chase each other around and still have a resting spot for each one.

WHAT ARE THE DIMENSIONS?

The total height is 6’8″ and total width from side to side where the corner couches jut out is 4’6″.

HOW MANY CATS IS THE ASLAN DESIGNED FOR?

The Aslan is designed for homes with lots of cats! There are 9 places designed for sleeping, but there are many flat surfaces that can be used for the same purpose to easily double that number.

WHAT KIND OF CONSTRUCTION DOES IT HAVE?

The Aslan, as with every kitty condo we make, is made from only sturdy wood and fasteners and covered in high quality, plush carpet and 3/8″ sisal rope sourced from Brazil and Mexico. Every post is made from single or doubled 2x4s; horizontal flat surfaces are made from 3/4″ subflooring OSB; vertical flat surfaces for tower walls are 1/2″ OSB; other landing components are 1x4s, 1x6s, and floor joists. We never use cardboard tubes of any kind because it’s weaker than solid wood and absorbs bacteria easier. The carpet and sisal rope are secured to the wood with heavy duty staples, never glue, with a pneumatic staple gun to ensure your cat will never eat any glue or pull out any staples and get hurt. We also use wood screws instead of twist on/off hardware. We do this because the kind of hardware loosens over time and has a single point of support. Our screws go straight down into the posts at the center, then at angles from the sides to bite the grain of the wood better and ensure that the mounted landing will not loosen. People often ask if it comes apart, and our response is simple: “It doesn’t come apart, but it doesn’t come apart!” That is, it will last when others fall apart.

WHAT KIND OF PLATFORMS AND SLEEPING AREAS DOES THE ASLAN HAVE?

The 9 specific sleeping platform on the Aslan are: the 18″x18″ inside the ramparts castle top, five 12″x12″ inside the walls couches, an 18″ long beam, a 12″x12″ hammock, and an 18″ long cube. Other than that are two 12″x12″ flat platforms, an 8″x32″ catwalk, three 12″x12″ donuts with 8″x8″ holes, two ladders, a chevron bridge, and four interior 6″x14″ castle steps.

WHY IS THE ASLAN DIFFERENT?

Almost no other cat tree builder uses all wood. The posts are usually cardboard tubes lightly reinforced with wooden ends. We use wood the whole way through. Furthermore, every surface is covered with carpet or rope. If you look underneath the landings on other kitty condos, you usually see a bare surface, and that is usually cheap, crumbly particle wood covered with cheap faux fur. On the Aslan and every kitty condo we make, even the bottoms of the landings and interior walls of the tower are covered in cozy carpet. Only the base is bare except for the edges to ensure your hard surface floors don’t get scratched. On top of that, every landing that touches any other surface on the kitty condo is secured to it; so multiple anchor point produces not just a cat tree with lots of stuff, but a whole unit of strength. The Aslan is also set apart in that it’s an actual KITTY CASTLE! If your cats are of the regal sort, they need to have a proper domain.

HOW MUCH IS DELIVERY?

Because the Aslan is so huge, it almost always needs to be assembled on site. In some cases it can be shipped on a pallet and rolled off with PVC pipes, if you have double doors and want it in the room those doors lead to.
